  • Susan and Mark's wedding!!

Finally putting my few pictures up from the big event in September!  This is our view when we first arrived (along with DD and Donna Russell) and it actually worked out kind of nice because we got a behind the scenes look at the wedding party!

  • A nice day at Lake Shawnee

Before the weather got cold, we decided to go over to Lake Shawnee to see some of the new landscaping.

    Here's the lake!

This is a really neat pond where this waterfall flows into a smaller pond.  It is located by a gazebo which is a popular setting for weddings.

Here we are inside the "hidden" place.  From the outside it appears to be merely a bunch of bushes but you can actually walk inside!

  • My dad and his cousin Vera!

Recently jw_dubois has gotten reconnected with his cousin Vera.  She and her husband Keith live in Sun City West but they still have lots of Kansas connections.  They were in town visiting a new great grand baby last week so we met up with them at Barnes & Noble.

    Here is Dad and Vera.

They are both over 80.  This is what young at heart looks like.

Now here's Keith.  Also young at heart and lively.

    DSCF5125 DSCF5126

Vera's group of friends at church knit lap robes for men and shawls for ladies to give as gifts.  These are not just for keeping warm but to remind them that God's love is surrounding them because it is a gift that God allowed them to make and to give.  So she gave this one to her cousin, John.  Here he is modeling the lap robe as a shawl!

    Isn't he suave?

Now Vera is telling about something serious.

We enjoyed visiting with Keith and Vera very much and hope we can see them again before too long!

Now for something almost as exciting......

We have two new turtles!  (red slider turtles).  This is the old Oscar tank that Cameron had which is now converted for Evan and Parker's turtles.

  • Just for fun!

Today I says to Grace and Cameron, "Nobody has seen you guys for awhile, let's take some photos."  and they said, "Okay."

Grace took the time to straighten her hair. Cameron took this one to test out the lighting in the living room.

Pulse

  • When you decide to send your children back to public school, you have to deal with storing all the HOMESCHOOL materials you have at home.
  • Every morning we read a chapter out of the Bible before sending the boys off to school.  I like the study time together.
  • Evan's track meet was cancelled yesterday because of thunderstorms.  Today however was beautiful and sunny.  He's switching to long jump.
